Buddhist Temple in Wimbledon London is the first formal Thai Temple in the UK. It is affiliated to the Royal Thai Embassy in London.
A short history of Wat Buddhapadipa
The Temple originally located on Christ Church Road, Richmond. It has been enjoying royal patronage since 1965. The King and Queen of Thailand inaugurated the temple in August 1966. Buddhist Temple Foundation purchased the Wimbledon premises in 1975. Then they moved the temple to Wimbledon in November 1976.

Buddhist Temple in Wimbledon London- opening times
The Temple is open to all people throughout the year. There is a guided tour arrangement. It lasts up to 1 hour. Pre-book is required. No charges for the tour but they appreciate a donation.
Spring and Summer: 9.30 am to 6 pm
Autumn and Winter: 9.30 am to 5 pm
